Fun with my friends.
We woke up at 7:00 AM on Sunday and we all got ready together after that we went to the train station and got our tickets, this was kind of scary to me because I have never been on a train before. The train ride was really fun and people could see we are not from here because we took so many photos and also laughed out loud a lot
When we arrived we decided to all have breakfast and some coffee to wake us up and warm up a little…this weather is really one of the hardest things for me… We started walking and oh boy did we walk a lot that day, we took a lot of photos and then went to the love park (one of Philly’s trademarks). It was amazing to see how it looked and how many people were there taking photos; it is really a must for everyone to see!
One of the things that was probably the most interesting for me was to see the architecture of all the buildings. It is amazing how high they are, how old they are and how good they still look after all these years. The buildings are very beautiful and I could not stop looking at them even if I tried. This made me realize that we should be thankful for the things that we have around us because we sometimes just take everything for granted and do not recognize how special things really are!
What made me feel right at home was to see the South African flag hanging on a lamppost; the street has every country flag hanging on a pole with the name next to the flag.
We then went to the Art museum where we took photos with the movie character Rockey statue. People thought we were crazy but we had a really good time making jokes, laughing out loud and singing at the top of our lungs.
We walked around some more, saw the Liberty Bell and walked and walked eventually we ended up in South street(one of the busiest streets in Philly).
We did some shopping and then decided that it was time to go home and we walked back to the train station and waited…Our feet was so sore after a long day that we could not wait to get home and in bed but once we got off the train at 8:40 PM we were hungry…once again…and got some Mc Donald’s. After a really good dinner I dropped off everyone at home, came home took a shower and got in to bed
I soon realized when I was in bed that I can’t call this people my friends anymore…but rather my family
I had the best day of my life in the USA so far!! ….and I miss My Beloved South Africa
