Why hire an Au Pair?- “To find someone who will truly love my children”.

Recently I interviewed a new Host Family in Philadelphia.  I met a lovely family with two adorable one-year old twin girls. I immediately noticed how these sweet cute girls were adored by their parents. The interview ran fine, we discussed child care while both parents holding one child, playing and kissing them with boundless love.

We came to the questions and I asked, “What made your family decide to host an Au Pair over other childcare options?” The father said, “I don’t want a nanny any more for my kids. The last nanny did a fine job, but she didn’t bond with the children. I am looking for someone who will truly love my children as a family member. I have read several  host families’ reviews about the Au Pair program and goAUPAIR Agency.  And I want to try this program with goAUPAIR .  From your experience, is it possible to find an Au Pair who will truly love my children?”

“I believe YES,” I said. I knew that because just recently one Au Pair mentioned that the kid she takes care of called her ‘mommy’. Another said that their kid accidentally called his mom by his Au Pair name and the whole weekend continuously asked about her.

Some parents feel jealous, but many parents like it, knowing that the children did that because the Au Pairs treated them with all their love.

Many Au Pairs call Host Family kids ‘my kids’.  The conversation between Au Pairs changed to the kids very quickly, usually starting, “my little one is so cute, yesterday he said to me…….,” and ending, “ I don’t know how I can leave my kids when the time is up………?”

That is why I believe that many Au Pairs love host family babies as much as their own kids and children as their siblings.
