I am glad I have an Au Pair.

I am glad I have an Au Pair.

“This week is going to be showing again, and school may be closed – I am so glad I have an Au Pair”, said one of the host mom to me yesterday.

Many schools have been closed or had delayed opening last week due to the snow. And more snow is coming. Unexpected days off present problems for many working parents.
Reece Murphy in the article “Who takes care of kids on snow days?”, says that one group of people who was affected most, were parents of school students.

Faced with the loss of their daily de facto day care, many parents suddenly found themselves scrambling to make arrangements for what they were going to do with their children during the day while they were at work. http://www.carolinagatewayonline.com/content/who-takes-care-kids-snow-days

Parents said that the biggest problem they faced was how to keep bored children busy.  There are no problems if you have an Au Pair.

Here is theAu Pair Laura having fun with host family’s children.

Laura was nominated for the IAPA Au Pair of the Year Award 2011.
WE WISH HER GOOD LUCK IN GETTING THE TITLE “THE BEST AU PAIR OF THE YEAR 2011 IN THE WORLD”.

This week is going to be showing again, do you need  an Au Pair too?

I can’t imagine what other families are doing to try to find child care in these circumstances! Even though children need to stay home many parents still need to work. I agree Polina, what a perfect time to have an Au Pair!!
Here is a link to goAUPAIR’s blog post talking about it too: http://www.goaupair.com/Blog/post/I-am-so-glad-I-have-an-Au-Pair.aspx
