Have you had the opportunity to share the meal with the people around the world recently? Fortunately, I have this opportunity often as do many host families who are the Au Pair program participants.
Recently, Au Pairs and Host families got together at the Core Creek Park in Bucks County for BBQ, fun and fundraising.
There were Chinese Au Pairs, Colombian Au Pairs, Salvadorian Au Pairs, Ecuadorian Au Pairs, South African Au Pairs, Mexican Au Pairs, German Au Pairs, Ukrainian Au Pairs at the BBQ. They were serving as their country’s citizen ambassador at our meeting. Many open-minded American families participated as well.
Many different people gathered together, all connected by the Au Pair Program. Sharing the food and spending time together gives everyone the opportunity to learn something new and have fun for the Au Pairs and Host families. People around the table showed tolerance and respect to each culture and heritage and served as a positive example to the people around the world.
The Au Pairs and Host families made the meeting special. You can feel a friendship, support, love, appreciation, and respect.
The next fundraising event has already been planned. Au Pairs are going to be fundraising at the Rice’s market, Bucks County next month. Please check out and join the facebook page for Au Pairs volunteering in the USA to follow our journey.
