Buddy Appreciation Party 2017

Polina (our LAR), gave us her heart again with that party: she has planned everything, brought two cakes, games, her fantasy, and spent her time with us. I am very thankful for her! 17351994_10202971682050257_6449199535638883512_n

We had a balloon twisting competition, which was fun, because I have never done that before! We made different things and I had the chance to take balloons home for the kids- they loved them!

We had team games as well: we made two groups and had fun playing the games! Other au pairs and friends joined us too!17353565_10202971682810276_8706141647713160031_n

After the games, we ate cake and went to another room where we could play laser tag game! I enjoyed my time, as I have never done that before either, but I like playing those kind of games, so I hope, that I will have the chance to play again!

I like attending  the events and meetings, because then we can get together and experience how other people from different cultures react and behave! Interesting! 17361732_10202971680570220_5224967076863547971_n

I believe, that everybody had a good time! Next time, we are going to volunteer at the International Spring Festival! I am looking forward to meet you there! ♥

The Au Pair meeting in the Masonic Temple, Philadelphia

Enjoy reading the post of Au Pair Christine from China.au-pair-chinaI am Christine from China. To be honest, I am so blessed for being an Au Pair with Go Au Pair agency and my host family. Not only I can experience American and various cultures, but also I can learn how to be independent and mature. I think everyone has their own thoughts about being an aupair, in spite of that, this tremendous experience won’t let us down.go-au-pair-philadelphiaWhen it comes the fancy activities which held each month for Au Pairs from Go Au Pair in the Philadelphia, Bucks County and NJ area, it is another experience and adventure.masonic-templeLast Saturday we went to the Masonic Temple together with Aupair folks. The building is fantastic and was built 150 years ago. I couldn’t remember the names of prestigious architects and designers and history of the amazing artworks inside the building, but I do clearly remember every Au Pair I met on that day.masonic-temple-2I am sort of bad at remembering people’s name. However, I can speak up the name of most of my new Au Pairs friends after last meeting. I met Au Pairs from Argentina, S. Africa, Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Germany, Ukraine and, of course, from China.masonic-temple-3What also made me impressed was Au Pair Dani from Colombia who just arrived in Philadelphia a few days ago, perhaps she was still having a jet-lag problem, but she came to the meeting with us showing her enthusiasm!au-pair-philadelphia

In a few words, I  learned something new from the meeting and  made many international friends as well. That is why I never miss out the meeting. It also why I am looking forward to meeting you guys next time on March 19, 2017 at Brunswick Zone XL!

We had a meeting at our LAR’s house this weekend. Our cluster has two chefs , so we had chance to cook and try some new food and gather memories!

It was an unexpectedly warm Sunday, that is why, it was fantastic to get in the car and drive! Polina (our LAR) gave us her whole heart. I do appreciate it. 15073324_10202441105426173_6670490034020431339_n

Meet new cultures, meet new people, meet the new YOU

Two weeks ago, I had my first au pair event. It was a picnic near the Liberty Bell. The weather was perfect for us and so everything.

There were a lot of new au pairs. Miguel came with his Host Family. It was really interesting to meet them there.

We had fun together, ate delicious dishes from different cultures… The two of us: Valentine and me had baked something (I would share the recipe with you, but it is a secret family recipe.) We also had muffins, chicken, etc.

14449766_10202237980188169_3320112765404491629_n

We also played a game to know each other better. I learnt new information so far.

Something important: you have to experience yourself by getting know others better to meet the new you. Hard, but it is worth it!

Our next meeting will be at (the awesome) Polina’s house. We will make sushi and something else, as we have two chefs in the cluster! I am looking forward to meeting these guys again! See you there! ♥

The most unforgettable experience in the United States is the holiday like Thanksgiving Day and Christmas. When Thanksgiving we ate a lot of delicious food and do pray that this is a very unforgettable experience in my life. I’ve got a lot of gifts and saw a lot of beautiful decoration at Christmas…

The Au Pair program helped me learn to be independent, patient, also let me have a very unforgettable experience of American life.

This is a very rare experience I would like to recommend to my friends.Hope that more and more people join  au-pair.Wish everyone to be happy every day!’

The farewell Au Pair picnic at the Independence Historical Park.

The Au Pair program is centered around cultural exchange and full of opportunities to learn American cultural firsthand when having fun. Go Au Pair cluster meetings give the Au Pairs chance to meet other Au Pairs from around the world and learn/share their unique culture.

On Sunday, 05.15.2016, we had the farewell picnic right across the Independence National Historical Hall in the center city of Philadelphia. The Hall is known as the birthplace of the United States for it was here that the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Constitution of the United States was debated and signed

Our international Au Pair team sat on the grass with international flags and enjoyed the historical Landmark, great company, and a warm weather.

On the right side is the Liberty Bell Center – the famous bell symbolizes liberty and freedom. There are many historical places around! The Au Pairs had the chance to visit many places after the meeting.Au Pair farewell picnic Independence National Historical Park 2

We also enjoyed the Au Pair international cuisine-  delicious food from 6 countries. The food represents the traditions, stories, and geography and we learned a lot simply trying different food.Au Pair farewell picnic Independence National Historical Park 5

We had a lot of fun sharing the experience and creating new memories. We were taking many photos and then more photos. At the end, we said goodbye to many amazing Au Pair friends who are leaving the cluster soon.
