One more amazing au pair joining! Welcome Nafir!

Hey Guys, SUMMER IS ALMOST OVER!! ūüė¶ I hope that you have taken full advantage of this season and you should be ready for a beautiful fall. It’s so excited to welcome a new member of our cluster: Nafir from Ecuador, she is 19 years old and she just arrived a few days ago.

Nafir decided to be an au pair because she studied pedagogy in languages ‚Äč‚Äčand she think that is important have a good English level, experience with children and she wants to know about American culture.

Nafir likes to know new places, make trips, visit museums and zoos, climb up mountains, go cycling, ride a horse, watch series and movies, spend time with her family, prepare desserts, make crafts and aerodance.

What was the best event/happening during last month? Well, the best event last month was when I finished my second semester very well, with good grades.

What are two things that you consider yourself to be very good at? I consider myself kind, generous and simple person

Welcoming to our Go Au Pair Family Vanessa!

Hi there! For some people it might be sad since this is the last month of summer, but for us this month is full of happiness because we are glad to introduce our new member Vanessa Ferreira from Angra dos Reis, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. She joined the Go Au Pair Philladelphia cluster just yesterday. So let us get to know each other better.

Why do you want to be an Au Pair?
I want to be an Au Pair because my dream is to travel the world, meet new adventures, learn from new cultures and have a professional evolution.

What are your hobbies and interests?
I love to travel. My favourite sport is volleyball and I love to go to the beach.

What was the best event/happening during last month?
I love to visit my city, Rio de Janeiro. Today I wenr to visit the Parque Lage in the Botanical Garden.

What three adjectives best describe you?
Determined, cheerful and adventurous.

If you had one wish what would it be?
Be successful in helping my family.

What place would you like to visit?
Greece, Venice, London, etc…

What is your favourite way to spend a Saturday?
On Saturdays I like to go to the beach.

What are two things that you consider yourself to be very good at?
I’m very good at motivating people and also I love malabares.

Bucks County Community College classes for Au Pairs

Starting Fall semester, Au Pairs can take Credited Classes at Bucks County Community College for In-County tuition rates. Classes begin at Bucks County Community College (Newtown) August 22nd.  ESL testing will be August 20th, from 6:30-8:30pm 

Bucks County Community College is now allowing au pairs to take credited classes for in-county tuition rates.  Au pairs can choose to take classes for credits or hours without being charged as out of county residents.  Au pairs books

Bucks County Community College also offers one credit classes designed specifically for au pairs. There are two different options available:
Weekly Class on Friday Evenings (1 credit)

*American Culture/$159, LESLA 0253 C01
A study of American culture including the laws, social rules and strategies for success in American society.  For upper intermediate and advanced students
Fridays
C01/September 21 – November 30, 7pm – 8:30pm (No class 11/23)
Weekend Class (12 hours and a certificate)
 
*Au Pair Weekend, $99
One weekend.  12 hours.  So many experiences!  These 2 days will include segments on Astronomy, American Sign Language (common signs for children), Do-it-Yourself Home Repairs & Projects, Wellness & Nutrition, Yoga, Photography (on your cell phone), and American Government.

Volunteering for the International Spring Festival. 

Many Au Pairs from the Bucks County and Philadelphia area cluster chose to volunteer and help the community while being Au pairs with Go Au Pair. This year we are going to volunteer again for the International Spring Festival. au pair volunteering with ISFFor many Au Pairs volunteering in the USA will be a first-time experience. Au Pairs are very enthusiastic and motivated to make a difference in another’s life.  Instead of taking the easy roads, spending time for their pleasure, many Au Pairs had chosen to volunteer their time.Go Au Pair volunteer 2016 ISF 13

This year Au Pairs are volunteering face painting, twisting balloons,  making crafts with kids, and etc.  They are looking forward to entertaining the kids.  However, the festival is interesting for the entire family. The address is North Penn High School, 1340 Valley Forge Road, Lansdale, 19446, and the hours are from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm If you want to meet other families and learn about the Au Pair program from their experience, please come to the Go Au Pair table at 12:00 pm. The event is free.

We warmly welcome Keri, our next au pair to the Philadelphia and Bucks County cluster today! Keri is 24, she is a Teacher from S. Africa. Keri will live in Merion Station, PA with her lovely host family and two kids.

In addition, Go Au Pair will  enter three (3) eligible Au Pairs for a chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to IAPA’s 2018 Conference, held on March 17-19, 2018, in Seville, Spain, where one Au Pair will be officially recognized as the 2017 Au Pair of the Year and presented with a token prize and commemorative award.
Gina’s host family said, ”¬†In the spring, Gina took a digital animation course at a local university and created a cartoon for our two kids, Aili (3 at the time) and Bo (1 at the time). Every week after making them breakfast, she takes them to swimming lessons and the zoo on Mondays, to the Science Museum on Tuesdays, to see a kids band on Wednesdays, to the Children‚Äôs Museum on Thursdays and to gymnastics and storytime in Spanish at the library on Fridays. In the afternoons, she gives daily reading time, music time and art time at home. All the while, she only speaks to them in Spanish, and they are now both fluent..……..we are so grateful for the light and warmth Gina brings to our family and teaches our children (and us).”

Au Pair Holiday Party at Peddler Village, Bucks County

Just a few days left till our annual Holiday party! In the Philadelphia and Bucks County cluster we have Au Pairs from many countries-Au Pairs from Brazil, China, Ecuador, Colombia, South Africa, El Salvador, Spain, Argentina, Ukraine. Many Au Pairs will be experiencing the holidays in the US and join the Au Pair party for the first time. The Holiday Party is a great chance to spend quality time together with au pairs from different countries far away from home and learn american holiday traditions.

I am looking forward to spending time with the Au Pairs! We will have a great Holiday party with Au Pairs from other clusters and with fun, laugh, delicious food and presents in a very special place that everyone will remember.

Welcome in our amazing cluster Jaquelinne!

Two new au pairs from Brazil are coming and Jaquelinne is one of them! She is 24 years old and she is so excited for being a part of our team. Just to know more about her, lets look at her answers!
