Nomination
International Au Pair Association Annual Au Pair of the Year Award.
Every year, the International Au Pair Association (IAPA) presents their Au Pair of the Year Award to one outstanding Au Pair. Show your Au Pair how much you appreciate them by publically recognizing their efforts and nominating them for this prestigious award.
The winning Au Pair will receive an all expense paid trip to attend the Annual Conference. The Au Pair will be presented with a token prize and commemorative award. He/She is then recognized as the best Au Pair among hundred of Au Pairs who participated in this program around the world.
The “IAPA Au Pair of the Year” award is one way of giving Au Pairs the recognition and credit they deserve and enhances the public’s awareness of this demanding yet undervalued cultural experience.
Every year Go Au Pair Host Families from the Philadelphia and NJ area nominated their Au Pairs for the IAPA Au Pair of the Year Award. Just being nominated for the Au Pair of the Year is an honor in itself.
Six Host Families from the Philadelphia and NJ area nominated their Au Pairs for the IAPA Au Pair of the Year Award in 2014. Congratilations to Au Pairs Adriana, Ophelia, Diana, and Hui from China, Sandra from Spain and Valeria from Germany.
Three Host Families from the Philadelphia and NJ area nominated their Au Pairs for the IAPA Au Pair of the Year Award in 2013. Congratilations to Au Pairs Sharon Lizcano Tellez from Colombia, Phila Sozombile from South Africa, Maria de los Angeles Rodriguez Menjivar from El Salvador.
Four Host Families from the Philadelphia and NJ area nominated their Au Pairs for the IAPA Au Pair of the Year Award in 2012. Congratilations to Au Pairs Karla Endres from South Africa, Laura Merchan from Cololombia, Irina Kopylova from Russia, Ying Song from China.

That’s an amazing experience that Irina shows in her video. She is having a really great year in the USA, she is taking care not only of the hostkids but she is also travelling a lot around US and Canada, studying different subjects at the colleges, learning many things about new country and different cultures from her international friends. I can guess her host family loves her because she does a lot of things with the kids and they learn a lot not only at this moment while she stays with them but also for their future.

Awesome!!!!! That such a great program. I love Irina’s video, such a impressive ever that she traveled to many places in United State and Canada also studied in the university, made friends from around the world. That such a great experience to share culture together. Her host family so lucky to have her, she so sweet with the kids and taught the kids many things. The kids so happy to be around her.

Irina’s video does a wonderful job capturing the cultural exchange that Au Pairs and their Host Families experience. While Irina gets to immerse herself in American Culture, her host family has the opportunity to learn so much about their own heritage and culture.
It really is amazing how much she has done in the past year! And her video is fantastic. She gets my vote!

Video is is amazing! This video shows a a “small” portion of her “many” talents she has. There’s nothing Irina can’t do or willing to try! Irina is an incredible cook, she makes everything look so beautiful.
Irina loves, to hike, bike, swim, paint, sew, ice skate, dance, read, photography, shopping, traveling. Irina has a lot to offer to the not only to children but to the world, she is a very, very smart young lady. One of greatest gifts in my life was being able to meet Irina and share experiences with her. I love her like a daughter and a best friend. I have been able to watch her blossom over the past year into an amazing multi talented women that has no fears, she is always up for an adventure and to take a picture. Irina has fallen in love with America and its culture but she is still a Russian girl at heart, she takes great pride in sharing with others the love of her country and the admiration and respect she has for her mother. I couldn’t be more proud of Irina signing up for the Aupair program its been a lovely blessing for her but Irina has been ultimately and AMAZING blessing to everyone she meets, she has a way of touching lives that priceless.

I have known Laura for some time ago, and I know that her talent for music and the love that she transmits for her kids are part of the secrets for she being a really awesome Au Pair. Music is the only language that everyone can understand, and her talent is gonna make her achieve really high goals!. She traveled to the United States looking to achieve her dreams, and with her hard work I know that she can make it!. Her kids love her, she is like a mother, a sister and a best friend for them! in the time i’ve known irina.. i have been impressed at the beautiful way she carries herself- w/confidence, intelligence, warmth, humor & a marvelous sense of curiosity & interest in the world around her! i’ve seen her video, made w/her host ‘family’ ..and, can only say that any family would be delighted & greatful to have irina become a part of their household- and, give to their children the love, care, guidance & devotion she brings to these three little boys.
i think it would be wonderful if irina was chosen to be the IAPA’s au pair of the year for 2011. she is not only an gift to her current family.. but, to all whom she has befriended. she’s a wonderful role model for all young women & a shining example of everything this program can achieve..

I’ve known Irina for a long time, she is really nice and wonderful person. I am always seeing her being around the children, she really enjoys time spending with them. More than 1,5 year ago she left her country and desided to be an au pair in the USA. I think she did a great choice participaiting in that program, i can tell she learned lots of things from her american environment, changed herself being in different culture and met great people from around the world, every week she is posting new pictures showing us that she is a big traveler, she is always on her way to discover America for herself, she started to learn the 5th foreign language staying in the US, i am really proud of her. she is very talented woman.
Her host family loves her and they enjoy their time together. The boys love her as their best friend and even more sister!! I think they would keep in touch for the whole their life and the kids will always thank Irina for being so kind and useful for them. She became a real member of their family.
My vote is for Irina!

Hi, I have known Laura since we were little girls and went to elementary school together. We grew up together and when my family moved to the U.S we stayed in touch. When I heard she was coming to the United States to be an Au Pair I was thrilled, and thought whatever family she ended up with would be lucky to have her. Laura has always been a responsible girl. When we were younger when we were put together to do a project and she stepped up and took the reigns as to where the project should head. I don’t doubt that she is like that with her host family. She puts her all into every thing she sets her mind to. Although being an Au Pair is her job she loves those kids and cares a lot about her host family. Laura should be the Au Pair of the year because she deserves it. She has committed herself to be the best Au Pair her host family could have ever asked for. She puts 100% into her work meanwhile creating lasting relationships with her host family. Laura Merchan, before she went to this au pair program, had spent literally years taking care of her sisters with a dedication and love that I’ve never seen.
I can speak about her qualities as her friend, co-worker, and colleague on arts: she is a person full of hope, kindness, passion and determination. And she can share her amazing feelings with, not only members of their family or community, but also with all the people that life brings to her on travels, work and scenarios. I’m Alisa’s aunt. When I first met Irina and asked her how she likes kids, she smiled and said ‘I adore them!’ It came right from her heart. She said it so frankly, truthfully, that no words needed. Irina is a very nice person and she is so good with kids. They love her too!

I have no doubt Laura is the best aupair. She is an exceptional woman, she is kind, friendly and extremely talented! She is dedicated in her work. Her love for William and Helena makes her a remarkable girl. I have seen the way Laura teaches them and protects them, she takes good care of them. Laura is more than a babysitter for them, they see her as a big sister. They love her, respect her and appreciate the work she does for them.
I am very glad to say Laura is my best friend. she’s a smart girl, Laura is always ready to help the person who needs it,. She gives all of her without asking anything in return. I admire her for that, despite her age she is a very mature girl, she is a hardworking woman, she is honest and she loves her host family in the same way they love her.
Laura is my best friend, she is my sister, she is my family, she is my support, she is my guardian angel. She has shown me her love in many ways that I don’t know how to say thank you.

Irina’s video is a real proof of the au pair program being a great challenging program for young people from around the world. They travel abroad by themselves to completely different country with it’s different culture, language, religion, lifestyle, people, food, laws… and adjust to a new environment, it’s not easy for everybody at all but they make it work. Irina Kopylova is a really amazing person. Her personal experience impressed me a lot. I don’t know Irina personally but i would love to meet her in real life. I wish her a victory!

I love Irina’s movie! it’s such a great job she does with her hostfamily’s boys! very interesting classes, baking, playing basketball, drawing and painting, making crafts, making a little performance in her mother tonque, playing snowballs, I saw our general friend Liliana participating as Solovei the brigand in the russian performance! it’s so cute!! really amazing u r! good luck! u r the best!

my vote is for Laura Lorena, video is a real proof of the au pair program being a great challenging program for young people from around the world. They travel abroad by themselves to completely different country with it’s different culture, language, religion, lifestyle, people, food, laws… and adjust to a new environment, it’s not easy for everybody at all but they make it work. Irina Kopylova is a really amazing person. Her personal experience impressed me a lot. I don’t know Irina personally but i would love to meet her in real life. I wish her a victory!

Hi, I have known Laura Merchan since we were little girls and went to elementary school together. We grew up together and when my family moved to the U.S we stayed in touch. When I heard she was coming to the United States to be an Au Pair I was thrilled, and thought whatever family she ended up with would be lucky to have her. Laura has always been a responsible girl. When we were younger when we were put together to do a project and she stepped up and took the reigns as to where the project should head. I don’t doubt that she is like that with her host family. She puts her all into every thing she sets her mind to. Although being an Au Pair is her job she loves those kids and cares a lot about her host family. Laura should be the Au Pair of the year because she deserves it. She has committed herself to be the best Au Pair her host family could have ever asked for. She puts 100% into her work meanwhile creating lasting relationships with her host family. Laura is responsible, dedicated and loving and you couldn’t ask for a girl better than her to represent GoAuPair

Laura Lorena is the best au pair because it is a mature woman who knows how to differentiate between what is right and wrong, duty and responsible for their actions. Laura is able to give everything without getting anything, to love with all their heart without expecting anything in return.
