Au Pair meeting in the Masonic Temple

February cluster meeting for Au Pairs from Go Au Pair in the Philadelphia, Bucks County and NJ area is a tour to the Masonic Temple in Philadelphia. We are going to have an interesting tour as a group on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1.30 pm.  It will be also a great opportunity to meet all new Au Pairs who joined the cluster recently -Au Pair from Peru  Majo , Au Pair from Ecuador Alejandra, Au Pairs from China Catherine, Alina and Candy,  Au Pairs from Colombia Anita and Dani and Au Pair from Brazil Nadia100_2080This special tour is very educational and a great cultural experience. The Masonic Temple is a one of a kind architectural wonder in the heart of modern Philadelphia. I like that Au Pairs will have an opportunity to explore this place from the inside because when you step inside this building, you will find yourself in another time and place. This is not only the National Landmark , but also “a secret place” full of history and mystery.Au Pairs at the Masonic Temple

We will explore many room/halls with different styles and different architecture.  According to Wikipedia, “The Masonic Temple serves as the headquarters of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, Free and Accepted Masons. The Temple receives thousands of visitors every year to view the ornate structure, which includes seven lodge rooms, where today a number of Philadelphia lodges and the Grand Lodge conduct their meetings.”philadelphia_masonic_temple

The Temple is one of the more magnificent buildings in Philadelphia. I took the Masonic Temple tour many times with the Au Pairs and they really liked the tour.

If you never been in the Masonic Temple,  you need to experience it yourself. Come join the Au Pairs from around the world and visit this National Landmark and “a secret place” with us.

Julie’s host mom made a great present for her  – a handmade lamp, so that she will feel cozy and comfortable in her new  room.

I am really lucky to interview Julie, especially because it’s my first time interviewing an au- pair! So, we asked her a couple of questions to get to know her better.Juli au pair argentina

1.Why do you want to be an au-pair?

I wanted to be and au pair because it’s a great opportunity for cultural exchange…for meeting new people and work with kids…It also gives me the opportunity to study in a college or university, so it’s like a complete package for me.

2. Please tell us something about your hobbies.

My hobbies are cooking, writing and reading. I like to go out with friends but not every weekend…

3. What places would you like to visit?

I’ll like to visit New Orleans, New York again, Chicago, Disney… California… And Philadelphia, o course.

4. What three adjectives best describe you?

I consider myself good with people, I’m studying to be a psychologist, so that it’s kind of a requirement… I’m also a good singer, I think, hahahaha

Wow, I was surprised to find out there’s one more person in our cluster, who’s interested in psychology! We’ll have a lot to discuss when we meet, Julie:)Julis au pair argentina

5.Did you like the NY  workshop? Why?

I really like the workshop, Patrick was amazing with us and taught everything perfectly. I’ll recommend it. I liked it because it was a very good way to start to know the culture in this country. And because it teaches you a lot of stuff that you need to know before working with kids.

Thank you for the answers, Julie, we are looking forward to seeing you in person and spending time with you, sharing our experience and impressions of being an au-pair.
