International picnic with the dishes from twelve countries!

The next Au Pair meeting of Go Au Pair cluster in the Philadelphia and Bucks County area – international food picnic – will be on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Independence National Historical Park, 6th St & Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19106. All Au Pairs will bring a dish from their countries! There will be dishes from 12 countries in our Sunday picnic menu or maybe even more because many Au Pairs planed to bring their friends. We will test variety of dishes from China, Colombia, South Africa and Ecuador -since we have many Au Pairs from those countries. Also, we will have an opportunity to try dishes from Hungary, El Salvador, Brazil, Ukraine, Peru, France, Germany and Argentina!

The Au Pair program is a cultural exchange program. Go Au Pair cluster meetings give the Au Pairs chance to meet other Au Pairs from around the world and learn/share their unique culture. We will enjoy the Au Pair international cuisine- the food represents the traditions, stories, and geography and we learned a lot simply trying different food.Au Pair farewell picnic Independence National Historical Park 2

There is also a great opportunity to learn about American history and culture because  we will have the picnic right across the Independence National Historical Hall in the center city of Philadelphia. The Independence Hall is known as the birthplace of the United States. The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were signed there. Our international Au Pair team will enjoy the historical Landmark and great company of friends.

Au Pairs will have fun sharing the experience, taking many photos and creating new memories. After the meeting, they will visit many historical places together.

The Au Pair Experience in the USA

The summer is the busiest time for the Go Au Pair agency, it is the time when many families bring new Au Pairs and many Au pairs complete the program and go home.  During the Au Pair year the Au Pairs are working, studying, exploring American culture, and doing many exciting things.Au Pairs Bucks County FundraisngMany Au Pairs from the Bucks County and Philadelphia area cluster chose to volunteer and help the community while being Au pairs with Go Au Pair. Volunteering in many countries is not common, so for many Au Pairs it was a first-time experience. Go Au Pair Team

Last year a group of the Au Pairs from China, Colombia, El Salvador, Ecuador, Germany, South Africa, Mexico, Ukraine volunteered four times.

“I wanted to be an au pair because I love working with children as I would love to pursue my teaching career. I find children so inspiring.”

Lucy generally loves singing, swimming, reading, painting, and shopping. She is also open to learning new things and developing a wide range of interests and hobbies.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Lucy at the flower show and I second that the three adjectives that describe her best is upbeat, dramatic and she is definitely an extrovert.
WP_001535
Lucy would like to visit Las Vegas and California. She is also a good listener and cares a lot for family and friends. Those are very good qualities to have, especially for an au pair.
What is the best thing about being an au pair in Philly?
“Best thing a about being an aupair in Philly is that the cluster is huge as to the number of au pairs…meeting my country girls is just so great, knowing other girls from different sides of this world is just too good wouldn’t trade these moments for anything in this world.”
WP_000910
We hope that you will have an awesome year with our cluster. I am looking forward to getting to know you better and exploring Philly with you!
