Volunteering for the International Spring Festival.

Many Au Pairs from the Bucks County and Philadelphia area cluster chose to volunteer and help the community while being Au pairs with Go Au Pair. This year we are going to volunteer again for the International Spring Festival. au pair volunteering with ISFFor many Au Pairs volunteering in the USA will be a first-time experience. Au Pairs are very enthusiastic and motivated to make a difference in another’s life.  Instead of taking the easy roads, spending time for their pleasure, many Au Pairs had chosen to volunteer their time.Go Au Pair volunteer 2016 ISF 13

Au Pairs from the Philadelphia, Bucks County and NJ cluster are not new to volunteering. Our current project is to raise money for Walk Now for Autism Speaks and walk together on November 2, 2014.

We had a few fundraising events and raised some funds already. The first fundraising event was  an Au Pair International Pot-Luck Dinner in June, 2014.

The Au Pair year- learning and giving

Talking about the Philadelphia NJ cluster of Go Au Pair tradition, I would like to introduce another our cluster tradition volunteering. Volunteering is a favorite meeting for many Au Pairs. Volunteering, learning and giving became our cluster tradition.Go Au Pair team volunteered in Philadelphia

Au Pair Ophelia said, “One of the best memory for my first Au Pair year is volunteering! Even though I just been here less than one year, I already volunteered four times.”

 Au Pairs volunteers

There are many ways to volunteer.  We had very many different experiences that helped the Au Pairs learn new skills and give back to the community. We volunteered  and helped the adoptive families at the Philadelphia Marathon  and helped the American Cancer Society. We also volunteered at the Flower Show, and Welcome Day Arts Festival in Newtown PA. Every event was unique and special.IMG_20131117_132533

Au Pair Monica said, “This was my first time as a volunteer, and I can say, without a doubt, that I would love to do it again because being a volunteer you can feel the real power of the good energy coming to you. See you guys in the next adventure….!! “

Many host families emailed that they would love to participate. The Au Pairs may ask their host families for help.

Also, one Au Pair suggested doing an Au Pair clothing market. Some Au Pairs may donate clothes and some Au Pairs  may buy them and this money will go to fundraising.

We will also wear a lovely Au Pair T-shirts and take many photos for our memories and to participate in the Go Au Pairs contest.

After the auction, Au Pairs will have something special in their bags in return for their kindness and generosity. What they will get at the auction will be like a present since their money will go to the sick kids. Many Au Pairs are leaving the cluster,  so it will be a nice memory to take with them.  Au pairs-standing-in-line

Au Pairs from other agencies or Go Au Pair clusters are welcome. Please, join the Go Au Pair team in fundraising for ”Walk Now for Autism Speaks.”
