An Au Pair from Bucks County, Genesis volunteered in the US for the first time and enjoyed the opportunity of volunteering with other Au Pairs at the international festival. She said,”we  had a happy time with other Au Pairs, we got to know each of us, we worked as a team, we did different activities and we enjoyed every second in the international festival.”

Gen, who came from Ecuador, said,”The international festival was an incredible experience for each one of us! We learned about different cultures from each part of the world, we met people from different countries, we tried different food from different countries. We also could watch various dances from different countries and appreciate art.” Au Pairs Host family

“I  had a beautiful time with my host family and my host kids! It was a day of great joy!” said Gen.

Volunteering at the International Spring Festival together with other Au Pairs and Americans is one of the special moments that many Au Pairs will remember for a long time.

Au Pairs volunteering as a team.

Volunteering as a team brings Au Pairs together and allows to discover another side of the American life. Volunteering is a very popular activity in the US.  Americans use some of their free time to volunteer and say that volunteering is fun and makes them feel happier. Volunteering is also an opportunity to make new connections and became a part of the community. It helps the Au Pairs get a rich cultural exchange experience which is a goal of the Au Pair program.

This year we are going to volunteer for the International Spring Festival  on Saturday, April 27th 2019 for the fifth time.

The Au Pair team from Go Au Pair will volunteer face painting, distribute balloons, make crafts with kids and represent many countries. There will be a huge cultural diversity Brazilian Au Pairs, Chinese Au Pairs, Colombian Au Pairs, Salvadorian Au Pairs,  Ecuadorian Au Pairs, Ukrainian Au Pairs, Argentinian Au Pairs, South African Au Pairs, Mexican Au Pairs, and French Au Pairs.

We also will have Go Au Pair host children team! Thank you to the Host Families and Go Au Pair agency for supporting our teams!

Many Au Pairs are very enthusiastic and motivated to change the word for the better. To start changing the world, we may need only to directly impact the lives of a few people.

Small steps… but here is a start – volunteering at the International Spring Festival.

The positive impact of Au Pairs volunteering for causes in the US.

On Sunday, 11.17.2013, twenty Au Pairs from Go Au Pair are going to volunteer at the Philadelphia Marathon and help the American Cancer Society. It is our first time of participating in such a Marathon. I didn’t expect that almost all Au Pairs in the area would like to join the team, but they did. In addition, it will be useful to the young adults from around the world who choose to volunteer in the US.  It can be a first-hand experience for the Au Pairs and also, a life changing event. The Au Pairs will return back home, share with others and spread their experience all over the globe.

Au Pairs at the Brazilian Day Festival in NY.

Last week several Brazilian Au Pairs from Philadelphia went to see the Brazilian Festival in NY. Brazilian Day in New York is celebrating its 29th anniversary and is a great cultural event. You can read about the history of Brazilian Day Festival.

The dolls are very famous in Recife/Brazil. The first doll is PELÉ (famous soccer player in Brazil) and the second doll is Luiz Gonzaga (famous singer in Brazil). He passed away in 1989, but everybody still likes his songs. It’s a great images.
Au Pairs at the brazilian Festival NYIt was a great chance to celebrate Brazil while being so far away from home for Fernada, a Brazilian Au Pair with Go Au Pair agency. Fernanda is almost finished her Au Pair year and is going home to Brazil. She said “Brazil, where I was born, where I learned a lot of things and where it is full of joy.”  Read more about Fernanda’s native country that she loves very much and…  Welcome to Brazil! “Meu Brasil, Brasileiro!!”

Au Pair Fernanda at the brazilian Festival

It was a fantastic year that Fernanda spent as an Au Pair in the US with her lovely host family and her friends from the Au Pair cluster in Philadelphia. Time has passed surprisingly quickly, I can’t believe it is almost time to say good-bye! We will miss you, Fernanda. I hope you return to the US to spend another wonderful Au Pair year or two with Go Au Pair!

Au Pairs from Brazil

Brazil is Go Au Pair’s featured country this month. That’s why I would like to write  a post about Brazilian Au Pairs.

A Brazilian Au Pair is very popular choice among the host families.  I usually have several Au Pairs from Brazil in the Philadelphia and NJ cluster.  Brazilian Au Pairs are very experienced childcare  givers since they often come from big families,  have younger siblings, many nieces and nephews and they almost always help care for them.

It is common that Brazilian Au Pairs gain child care experience through daycare, babysitting and volunteer work. The Au Pairs from Brazil tend to be very active and their favorite activities are soccer and volleyball.

From my experience working as a Local Area Representative, I can say that Brazilian Au Pairs are open-minded, social, and make friends fast. Brazilian Au Pairs have an easy time adjusting to the life in the United States.GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA

Read more about the Brazilian Au Pair Jessica who was an Au Pair from Go Au Pair agency and lived in NJ with a  lovely Host Family with four boys. Jessica said, “I cannot be more thankful to my parents and my host parents for giving me this opportunity.”

In honor of Go Au Pair featured country, families who match with an Au Pair from Brazil in May Go Au Pair agency offered a $100 off the program fees.

The Au Pair program and cultural diversity.

Every time the Au Pairs from my cluster and I get together, I enjoy cultural diversity and learn a lot from my Au Pairs.  Cultural diversity enriches our lives in many ways. Hearing the stories, exploring different kinds of foods, music and cultures are educational and fun. Thank to the Au Pair program,  Host Families and Au Pairs benefit from cultural exchange and long friendship.

Go Au Pair recruits Au Pairs from over 60 different countries, which is why I get to experience a huge cultural diversity around me, which I really enjoy.  Right now there are Brazilian Au PairsChinese Au PairsColombian Au PairsSalvadorian Au PairsEcuadorian Au PairsPanamanian Au PairsSouth African Au PairsMexican Au Pairs, Cameroonian Au Pair  in my cluster.

Au Pairs speak different languages, have differently colored skin and heritage, and practice different cultures and religions. Even though, there are  many differences,  Au Pairs have a lot in common: they participate in the  Au Pair program and have the Form DS-2019 and the J-1 Visa, have childcare experience and love kids,  have the same desire to work as an Au Pair in America, common interests and needs.

Au Pair.Lala

The Au Pairs program teaches to accept the differences.  Acceptance is important to friendship because friendship requires it along with honesty and commitment.  Friendship comes when you care about who the other person really is. If you can learn to truly accept the differences that other Au Pairs bring into your life,  you will make many special friends, because friendship is an acceptance of another, not an altering.

Friendship has wings
