I take great pleasure in providing daily, ongoing, local support to both Host Families and Au Pairs in Philadelphia and suburban, Montgomery, Bucks County and close NJ
Sally is 22 years old, she is another au pair from China. Sally sounds to be a nice and friendly young lady.To know more about her, lets see her answers!
Sally (the lady in a pink shirt and a light blue short) said that she wanted to be an au pair, because she loves to spend time with kids and she also mentioned that she likes to cook and travel!
I was lucky to meet my host family
Sally is so excited for being with her host family, she goes to the church on Sundays and and she expects to meet many people from different countries.
She likes to go to the gym and she is interested about the american food and she would like to learn how to cook food from different countries. That sounds delicious!
Sally finally said that last month, she had her first Au Pair meeting in beautiful place! She also wanted to thank Polina for taking care of her and being so nice. It was a wonderful experience for her to see the different activities of Au Pair meeting.
As you can see Sally is a happy au pair , lets talk to her and you will discover more interesting things about her! She wants to be your friend and we are glade she is here with us!
Sijia is 25 years old and arrived about 2 weeks ago in Bucks County, where she replaced the former au pair Hui. Her buddy is Ling and she will help her during the first time as an aupair.
I think the aupair program is a good exchange program. It combines a few aspects such as improving my English, learning about another/western culture and the work with kids.
In my free time, I like to read books, listen to pop music, like Maroon 5, Katy Perry or Bruno Mars., or to watch some movies. But I also like playing badminton.
Optimistic, interesting and easygoing – that’s how Sijia would describe herself.
If I had one wish it would be that my mum can live one hundred years, because I love her very much.
During her year she wants to visit as much places as possible. Los Angeles and New York City are just two of them.
My favorite way to spend a Saturday is listen to music and reading a book or going out with my friends.
I already met Sijia at our last meeting. And she’s a very nice person and I’m sure she will have a great year! Welcome again to our cluster, Sijia! 🙂
Ling joined our cluster already two months ago. She’s 24 years old, lives in Bucks County and replaced Adriana. Another Chinese au pair, Hui, offered to be her buddy and to help her during her first weeks in the US.
I’d like to share my life with other au pairs. It’s a honor to be an au pair. I hope I can make more friends and learn more about the American culture.
One of my favourite things I do in my free time is swimming, doing paper-cut, drawing or cook Chinese food.
Three words to describe herself: confident, positive and brave.
I want to travel as much as possible during my time as an au pair and see as much places as possible in the US.
At weekends, she likes to spend her time with reading, swimming, shopping or just meeting some of her friends.
I hope to have a good relationship with my host family and that I can be a responsible and careful au pair for the kids.
Ling already met a lot of our au pairs during our meeting in August and she went with me and a few other au pairs to the ColorFestival, Philadelphia. Welcome again to our cluster! I am sure you can achieve your goal to improve your English and that you will have a great time here in the US.
As I wrote in my last post, we have a busy summer and a lot of new au pairs for our cluster. I was on vacation the last 2.5 weeks, so I will have a few interviews to publish during the next time.
The one I will start with is our new Chinese au pair Ling. She’s 25 years old and lives in Center City of Philadelphia. Thanks Monica for offering to be a buddy for Ling. Although her American name is “Julie” she prefers to be called Ling.
I’d like to learn more different education methods and expericence a different culture.
I like singing, playing Chinese chess, doing yoga,go shopping or just go for a walk.
Before she came to the US about three weeks ago she celebrated her birthday in advance with her friends, which was one of her best moments during the last weeks.
If I had to characterize myself I would say I’m honest, responsible and kind.
I wish I could go travel around the world without any other concerns.
During her year, Ling would like to visit funny and beautiful places, also museums and Universities.
Things I am very good at are singing and sprinting I would say.
As an au pair Ling wants to experience the American culture and to find out more about herself.
This is my first time in the US, so I am glad to have the chance to meet a lot of new people and make a lot of new friends.
Welcome to our cluster! I already met you and you fit really great into our group. Have a great year!
“Summertime is a big time for Au Pair farewells. Host Families often schedule their transitions in the summer to leave room for training new Au Pairs during the summer vacation,” said Summer in her post” Time to Say Goodbye”
I would like to write today about four Au Pairs in Excellency from China before they leave the cluster. Thank you for being great Au Pairs, Au Pairs in Excellency, girls!

Adriana’s host mom wrote about her: “Adriana has been a tremendous asset to our family. She is hard working and has a wonderful attitude and work ethic. ”
Adriana said about her child care experience: “Every day I prepare the food for kids, feed them and give kids classes. I help them take a bath, do homework, read a story, sing a song and pray with them. We have a lot of activities: play outside, do some crafts, and decorate our house before the holidays. I teach kids Chinese song, Chinese poem and Mandarin. I have a lot of fun with my host kids.”
Adriana is very thankful to Go Au Pair, she said in her review ,”There are many beautiful memories in my life. I love my au pair life here. Thank you Go Au Pair!”
“I’m so glad I have this chance to know more about west culture. I have a lot of fun and got a lot of childcare experiences during my au pair life.”
Adriana is very active, she is always the first to volunteer and help new Au Pairs . She volunteered at church and helped people learn English. Adriana made a lot of friends and got a new family. Her host kids will always remember her.

Today I just got my flight ticket to my new host family from Go Au Pair. Only one and a half months left, then I will flight to Las Vegas! I am so excited about this.
My new host family is very lovely. They have three wonderful children. All of them are super cute.
Most of the time I will take care of the angel baby and the cute little toddler girl.
Next week I am going to visit Las Vegas again. I will go to visit my new host family, meet the lovely host children in person. Maybe going to visit an Au Pair who lives there too. She is a Chinese Au Pair from Go Au Pair. We have been talked for quite a while. Now we are very good friends.
So glad I already have some good friends in Las Vegas before I move there. For sure my second Au Pair year will be even more wonderful!
What is the best proof that parents are happy with the quality of their kid’s childcare? I think that the best proof of great child care is the families desire to recognize their Au Pairs by spending time writing very special words about them.
“Ophelia has been a precious addition to our family”, wrote Ophelia’s host mom in her nomination essay. ” Between her devotion to Theo, her delicious dumplings, her boundless optimism and positivity, and her simple dependability, Ophelia has enriched our lives and enabled us to pursue our dream of having a family during graduate school. Just as Theo is growing up with Ophelia, Ophelia has grown to be an indispensable part of our lives. We cannot express how grateful we are to have her with us”.
The Mintz family, a host family from Philadelphia, nominated their Au Pair Ophelia from China for the IAPAAu Pair of the Year Award in 2014.
Many Au Pairs from Philadelphia cluster have brought true richness to their family’s daily lives, went above-and-beyond in their roles, and made a significant difference in the lives of the children for whom they care. Four Au Pairs from China out of five Chinese Au Pairs from our cluster were awarded this year: the Au Pairs Ophelia, Adriana,Hui and Diana.
Ophelia is very mature and responsible. She built very good relationships with her host family and the extended family as well. She likes to spend time caring for her host child Theo. Recently Theo turned one and Ophelia dedicated a video to Theo.
Go Au Pair agency believes that Ophelia and other Au Pairs are truly excellent, and their hard work deserve to be recognized. The agency recognized six Au Pairs from our cluster out of 22 Au Pairs from Go Au Pair cluster in the Philadelphia, Bucks County and NJ area. Read a press release Au Pairs in Excellence Nomination- Au Pairs stand out.

Hui Han, an Au Pair from China, lives in Yardley, Bucks County. She had a challenging task to join the host family with two kids who recently lost their mom. The kids’ father spent many hours looking for the right Au Pair candidate.
Her host father nominated the Au Pair Hui for Au Pair of the Year Award and shared his great experience”We were also fortunate to have the kind support of our Local Area Representative, who is great with organizing the Au Pairs in her cluster. She too could see that Hui was mature and good for the children. As the days passed by, I could tell that the children we happier at school and at home. While no one was going to replace their mother, we had built a new family structure. Having Hui there for them and helping out on their Chinese assignments was a source of stability in our household.”
Hui is very reliable, mature and trustworthy Au Pair. She is also very active and has many friends. I think that she traveled more than any Au Pair I know. She has been to New York City, New Hampshire, Boston, California, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, and visited friends in Idaho to name a few places. Hui took art class at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and then a class at Princeton University. She also loves volunteering, skiing and skating with her friends and her twin sister.
In a few months Hui will leave the family. Her host father says,”I know she will take her independence and maturity on to the next phase of life. I hope we will appreciate her as much as she deserves, even after she has gone.” Congratulation, Hui! Your name is written among other nominees of Au Pairs in Excellence on Go Au Pair website and also in your host kids hearts!
The Au Pair Karla’s host family was so nice. They hosted us and cooked very tasty Lasagna for us. We loved the food very much. Also, we had Chinese dumplings, salad and Chinese sweets.
We celebrated a birthday for the Au Pairs Annie and Carolina. As this year is Chinese horse year, I made two cute Go Au Pair horses for Annie and Carolina.
We all got fortune letters from our Local Area Representative Polina, it was so funny. One of the letter was, “ No fortune found here, you will find your fortune in love”, made us laughed a lot.
Our Chinese Au Pairs shared customs of Chinese New Year and signed happy New Year greeting cards for Au Pairs in Chinese.
Also, we prepared some Chinese money as a part of our game “ Pin the tail on the horse”.
At New Year time, Chinese people like put money in red envelopes, then give them out.
This is the best time for children, everyone loves it.
The game “ Pin the tail on the horse” made everyone laugh a lot.
We found the truly meaning of New Year during this party — friends and family get together, enjoy the happiness of life.
Happy New Year and the best wishes for the Year of the Horse!
