Chinese New Year Celebration

2016 Chinese New Year falls on February 8, and it is the Year of the Monkey according to Chinese zodiac. Chinese New Year celebration is the most important annual event for Chinese people and has more than 4,000 years of history.  Since we have many Chinese Au Pairs in our cluster we are looking forward to celebrate Chinese New Year with them.Happy new year

We are going to get together and join Chinese New Year celebration at Penn Museum in Philadelphia on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 12:00 pm. It will be a great chance to experience the traditional Chinese customs and meet new Au Pairs.

The Penn Museum has a Chinese New Year celebration every year. It is a special show that held in the China Gallery and throughout the international galleries of Museum.Au Pairs celebration at penn museum

The Au Pair cluster in Bucks County and Philadelphia joined that event in 2014, we learn a lot and had so much fun at the event. We enjoyed traditional music and dance, tai chi and tangram workshops, and Kung Fu demonstrations. We liked the Grand Finale Lion Dance Parade the most.

During the Chinese New Year, people greet each other by saying “Gong Xi Fa Cai” (恭禧發財), which means “may you be happy and prosperous” or “zhù nǐ hǎo yùn” (祝你好运) that means “wish you good luck.”
