Congrats to local Au Pair Mariia who is a runner-up of Love My Au Pair Contest!

Our warmest congratulations to Ukrainian Au Pair Mariia Belous and her Host Family- the Gerzon family! They became the runner up of 2018 Love My Au Pair contest with Go Au Pair and won Amazon gift cards, ❤

Mariia, Au Pair from Ukraine, is a local Au Pair who lives in Bucks County.  She came to the US 20 months ago and became a part of the Gerzon family –  single mom with two adorable girls. Alla, the host mom said “Mariia has made our lives richer, easier and more fun and this is why she deserves to get the best au pair award! As the 2nd year of Mariia being with us draws to a close, I’m saddened to think about how my girls will miss her when she leaves.Maria Au Pair from Bucks County We have formed an incredible bond with Mariia that will stay with us for a lifetime. My children, although they are adorable, are not the easiest to take care of because they are so close in age and often “team up against you”. Maria from UkraineMariella is such a picky eater, and Mariia has the patience to make sure Mariella eats a proper meal with enough variety. With Mariia’s help, Mariella grew so much since her arrival because Mariia insists on proper nutrition. I really have to thank Mariia for that because Mariella has always been the smallest in her class, but now she is catching up to the other kids.Au Pair Bucks County PA

Mariia also keeps my kids entertained without depending on the TV for entertainment. Some of the things she does to entertain the kids are dance parties, karaoke concerts, and dress up games! She will make up imaginary games and stories. She also does arts and crafts with them, and makes sure they create artwork to give as gifts to me and our relatives. She has organized playdates with local kids and visited a local police station to meet a policeman! Maria au pair from Ukraine

However, it is not all fun and games with Mariia, as she also helps my daughter do homework as well as her Kumon work. With Mariia’s help, Mariella learned to read and does math problems like a pro (for a 1st grader). She taught my kids responsibility like cleaning up after themselves after dinner and an important life lessons like “eat your food before having dessert”, or “homework/work before playtime”.Au Pair from Ukraine

I love to travel, and with Maria by my side, I have been able to take my family on vacations without too much stress for me. Some of my favorite memories with Mariia and my girls was when we went on family vacations together. We have travelled a lot including going to Florida, Mexico and Baltimore/ Washington. Normally I would be the one watching my kids, but this time with Mariia, I got to relax and actually enjoy the vacation. I would never dream of taking vacations as a single parent without help because, it is just too hard to watch two when you are only one. Now with Mariia we can team up and watch the girls with no problem.”love my Au Pairs contest

Congratulations, Mariia, on being nominated for Love my Au Pair contest for the second time and becoming a runner up of Love My Au Pair contest  this year! We wish you the every success.

Thanksgiving – time for family, friends, food and giving thanks.

Hey guys,  I’m here today to talk about Thanksgiving as an Au Pair with my lovely host family. As you already know I’m au pair from Ukraine, and we don’t celebrate this Holiday there.Au Pair Bucks County Maria 2

It is my second Au Pair year in Bucks County, PA.  Last year I had my first thanksgiving day with my host family and I absolutely loved it.

It is a special holiday when a whole day focused on spending time with families and friends.  Everyone trying to get together for the dinner and it is the busiest day for traveling.  People are driving home to see their parents, siblings and friends.  It feels like as important as a Christmas time.Maria Au Pair from Bucks County

For the dinner must have thing is of course turkey.  Most of the people buying already cooked turkey but there are still some very traditional families who cooking by themselves. The hosts are usually getting the main meal and guests bring salads, mushed potato, some deserts, and drinks. People chatting and saying what they are thankful for the past year. Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks for our good fortune and most of all for family, host family and friends, those treasured people who make our lives extra special.

I’m looking forward for my second Thanksgiving in the USA! It is one of my favorite  holidays that I experienced in USA.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving!!!

Xoxo, your Ukrainian au pair Mariia

Vacation in Mexico with my host family!

Hi Everyone, It is Maria, Au Pair from Ukraine, who lives in Bucks County PA with the awesome host family. You may read about my Au Pair year before. One of my favorite thing is, of course, a vacation! Recently my host mom sent me a message on Facebook and said, ” Maria, can I please have your passport info because we are off for a week and going to Mexico!”Au Pair Bucks County PA 2
I was super exiting! I am crazy about traveling and Mexico was always one of the places  I always wanted to visit! So I contacted Go Au Pair agency and sent them the DS 2019 form to stamp for my trip.  The agency sent me the form back very quickly and I was ready to travel.  Who knew that I will spend one week in a real paradise? Even the name of that resort is Paradisus❤️Au Pair Bucks County PA 1Food, beach, sun, shows, people whom you love around! My host family and I were having so much fun! It was a super cool vacation! We were swimming with dolphins, kids had a lot of fun with kids club, we met a lot of nice people! Mexico will always be in my heart! Our family loved Mexican vacation very much!Au Pair Bucks County PA
Of course, we had a lot of funny situations.  For example, I lost my passport in the airport in Mac Donald’s 😂But thanks, God, the Philadelphia’s personal in the airport were very kind and they found me and gave my passport back right next to the plane!
Then, our kids love cabin crew,  so we are always having lovely conversation with the team! Be honest,  if I were a film producer, I would record the movie about our vacation in Mexico! It was very cool, joyful and fun!Au Pair Bucks County PA
Thank you, my dear Alla Gerzon, who is my host mom, who is my best friend, who is my sister, who is an example how to be a Superwomen, Wonder-women and just a Supermom for a such opportunity to explore not only many special places in the States, but also such a lovely country as Mexico!P.S. The Gerzon family is the best!!!

The Au Pair program helps Au Pairs in their future

Someone said “Learner will have a future.”  The Au Pair program is very rewarding because it helps learn from new experiences. Being an Au Pair young people gain invaluable life experiences living in a new cultural environment and learning something new every day.

Heart Au Pairs

The Au Pairs learn and practice English language daily with English speakers. The program gives an opportunity to learn to live with others and build a good relationship with a new family and make lifelong connections with them. The Au pairs also learn to be tolerant and open-minded  and create special, long-term friendships with international friends and other Au Pairs.

au pair program

During the Au Pair program, Au Pairs are required by the U.S. Department of State to take six credit hours at an American college or university in any subject that interests them. The Au Pairs attend College to learn something new and further their education.

Au pair in the college
After living with a host family in a new country and taking care of children Au pairs learn to become more independent, responsible  and mature. That is a valuable asset that can benefit them in a future career.life au pair

Language knowledge may help Au pairs to find a job with a higher salary for speaking another language. The international experience will look great on  CV or a resume.

During the program year Au Pairs gain a valuable experience which is priceless and will make a big difference in their future.

Cherry, one of our awesome South-African Au Pairs.

Cherry is in our cluster since January and she takes care of a little baby-boy in center city, Philadelphia. She’s a happy and funny person, always there for others and it makes so much fun to do something  with her.

I was born in Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. I’m very friendly and very optimistic. I’m a huge water and animal lover. I worked in Sunnybank pre-school last year as an assistant Teacher and toured Australia with my family in June/July 2013. I love learning about new languages and cultures. I’d like to study drama, music and Psychology/Criminology.

I want to be an au pair, because I’m young, I love children and the program is great for work and travel in another country and discover more about yourself.

I love all the arts (music, dance and drama), reading, swimming, drawing, sports, and trying new things and I’m interested in Psychology.

Smiley, thoughtful…. fish-in-water – that’s how she describes herself.

Cherry would like to see Boston, NYC (again), Miami,Washington D.C., Montreal and Canada in general, Seattle, Chicago, Las Vegas, New Orleans, LA and California in general – basically she’d like to visit as much places as possible.

In my free time I like to travel, do sports (especially swimming), spend time with my friends, watch series or to read a book.

As an aupair, I expect to have a wonderful experience, full of traveling and new adventures and to have a great relationship with my host family and their beautiful son.

I think you had a great time here so far and everyone can see that you love Taeghan and enjoy every minute with him! All the best for your remaining time in the US!

It’s time to say goodbye

Au Pair and LAR

There will be for a few days you can not hear from me. Because before I start to work with my new host family in Las Vegas I will take one week’s vacation first. After everything is settled down in Las Vegas for me, I will come back and share more of my Au Pair stories with you!

Travel as an Au Pair

Ophelia’s diary.

One of the great benefits of being an Au Pair is that you can travel as much as you want! I used my weekends, paid vacation travelled to a lot places. Also, I had chances travelled together with my host family. I appreciate all of these so much.

IMG_9025

So far I have been in New York, Houston, Atlantic City, Alaska, Hawaii, Washington DC and Las Vegas. I can’t believe I have already travelled so much just in one Au Pair year. I can write all my stories into a book!

Au Pair magazine

What really matters is not how many places you went but what you got from your journey. I harvest love from host family, friendship from Au Pair friends, also my true love during my Au Pair journey.

Why I love Las Vegas?

Ophelia’s Diary.

As I told all my friends and family that I found a new host family with Go Au Pair in Las Vegas. Some people are happy for me, some people start worrying about me.

Au Pair Las Vegas

In the eyes of some people, Las Vegas is a “Sin City”, it’s built on sex and gambling. I have been there two times, that’s not the impression Las Vegas gave me at all.

Au Pair Las Vegas strips

It is a peaceful place and  has very pretty buildings. You can see a lot awesome free shows there. Las Vegas Strips is for tourists, the residents don’t live there. The residents usually live a half hour away from the strips.

Au Pair Las Vegas show

I love Las Vegas a lot because I have a wonderful new host family there, and  also Jon. Some of my Au Pair friends are there. Las Vegas won’t make me lose my faith, I will just have a happier Au Pair year with Go Au Pair.
