New au pair from Brazil: Nadia

Welcome to the cluster Nadia Souza! She is 20, going to live in New Hope, Bucks County! Her friend is Valentine.

She chose to be an Au Pair, because she knows that through this program she will have a wonderful intercultural experience.

“I am going to be with kids what is perfect ’cause I love them, of course I am going to improve my English and I know I will have new and good friends.”

Her favorite hobbies are reading books – she really loves that, watching sitcoms and cuting hairs.15909326_820044464800729_1397386545_o

She thinks, that it was very special, that she could spend Christman and New Year’s Eve with her family and boyfriend.

She says, that it’s  quite difficult to her to define herself, but she can say, that she is a good friend, an honest and a little bit anxious person. She is a very good driver and also, can learn how to do things very easily.

I wants to visit a lot of places, but the one that she most wants to visit is California. 15857480_820044991467343_546810276_oI hope, I can meet you soon Nadia! Enjoy every moment here! ♥

Farewell to Kim, an Au Pair in Excellence

I am incredibly glad, that I have a chance to write about Kim. I met her in person twice and I really liked her presence…

She was very fortunate to be able to visit many different places not only in the States but also internationally with her host family. She visited South Carolina, Connecticut, New England, New Hampshire, Maine, Niagra Falls, California and Switzerland. She loved every single one of these places for all different reasons as they were all so lovely and different.

She loved spending her  free time researching about different areas in the USA that she hopes to visit one day. She liked anging out with her newly made international friends as well as exploring and discovering new local hotspots to hangout and/or learn new experiences and gain more knowledge.

“Being able to know when you need to stand up for yourself when you are not being treated fairly but also being able to know when to take a step back and realize that your job is also to make life easier for your host family.”

She learnt let some things go if they were not worth fussing and worrying over.

SHE LOVED the experience overall even though it was hard getting used to living with another family (she got a new family after the first year). She was lucky to get such an open and welcoming family who saw her as a big sister to their kids and treated her like another family member and made an effort to include her in family activities but also making sure she get enough free time away from the family.

She  experienced many different foods (turkey bacon, mashed sweet potato with marshmallows, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits etc), travelling to many different States and experiencing different people in different cultures. She also experienced having to drive on the other side of the road and driving an automatic car.

She would recommend being an Au Pair to others ONLY if you are open-minded and love kids, as this is how most of your time will be spent.

She wishes all her new and life-long friends that they will gain so much knowledge and experience from the cluster and all the best with whatever their future plans are.

These answers were really mature, they made me tear up. You can feel, that she did love, what she was doing. Thank you for the kind words, I wish you the best as well! ♥

Au Pairs from all over the world celebrate Christmas in America.

By Wenjie, an Au Pair from China.

Christmas is coming… Au Pairs presnts

Christmas is a western holiday. For our eastern people, like Chinese, it is not a common holiday, but more and more people start to celebrate Christmas. But we’re still not that nature.

This is my second Christmas in US. So I’ve learned  that December 25 is the day which celebrates Jesus Christ’s birth. Many people erect Christmas trees, decorate their homes, visit families or friends and exchange gifts.happy aupairs

We’re all from different counties. We speak different languages. We have different skin colors. But we’re kind. We’re easy going. We’re  full of love for kids. We also have the same name “Go Au Pair”. It brings all of us together. We became a family, good sisters and friends. We also have a good mom Polina, our Local Area Representative,  who always supports us and gives us love.Au Pairs in the restaurant

Each year when you start hearing Christmas songs on the radio you might know Santa Claus in on the way. Thanks for the most wonderful time of a year.Au Pairs, Peddler's Village

We enjoyed the dance, lights, gifts, friends gatherings and Christmas dinner, EVERYTHING!!

We wish you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
