Real chocolate world

Hey everyone! I hope that you like this story as I really enjoyed going to the Hershey chocolate factory 🙂 On Sunday two of my friends Au Pairs from Go Au Pair and I decided that we should drive to a town called Hershey and visit the biggest chocolate factory in the world…Hershey chocolate factory…

When we first drove into Hershey I was shocked that a small town like this could possibly be the manufactures of the biggest chocolate brand ever! What also got my attention was the street names, cocoa avenue and chocolate avenue and the lampposts were in the form of a hershey kisses chocolate.   We went on a chocolate tour where they show you how chocolate is being made into the final product, from the cocoa beans cleaning, smashing, roasting right through to the packaging. I never realized that it was such a intense procedure just for chocolate.

The three of us then made our own chocolate bars, you start by putting on your uniform, then you choose what ingredients you want to have in your bar like chocolate chips, rice crispies,  ect. and your last choice is to choose if you want sprinkles on top of it or not.   Then you walk to the factory side where you see how your chocolate is being made and how they put all the ingredients that you chose in, then you are off to the designing studio where you can design your own wrapper or use on of the original wrappers.  

We all decided to create our own wrappers, once you are done you just wait for your chocolate bar where one of the professionals then wrap your bar in your wrapper. It was a great experience!

Then we went on a tour trolley, we had a conductor that was with us that takes you around the town of Hershey and explain the history and where it all began and even showed us the house where Hershey Mill( he founded Hershey chocolate) was born, the tour was an hour long and it was such a nice experience and also nice to learn more of the history not only of the chocolate but also the town.   Unfortunately it was time for Hershey chocolate factory to close and we had to come home after a great day! One thing that I can promise all of you is that once you have been there you had enough chocolate for a long long time 🙂

This was truly one of the best experiences that I have had since I arrived in the United States of America. I would recommend that everyone should go there and experience this truly amazing experience 🙂
